Prince Edward Island

"Keith of Green Gables"

This is Dale Marchbank.  He became a very dear friend of our during the three days we waited out a storm in his barn.  He is a master oyster and quahog clam fisherman.  He is opening some of the world-famous Malpeque Bay oysters he fishes for us to try.
 Raw.  Just suck em in.
Keith learned that opening the oysters is much harder than Dale makes it look.
Our gear getting dry by the warmth of the stove Dale lit for us in the Barn.
He builds all of his oyster boats himself (one of MANY).  He built the trailer it's on too.
This harbor in P.E.I. was surrounded by barns of all shapes and sizes and ages... it was a neat sight. Not sure if they were built for this purpose of brought here from the countyside... good storage space.
Fishing buddies enjoying a serene afternoon on "The Lake of Shining Waters" (as Author of A. of G. G. calls it)
Here we picked up 6 lbs. of fresh muscles and quahog clams for $8.26 total.  Keith was so excited.
We had quite the feast that night... This is only one of three batches.
 Tiny little snail.
Camped down by a red silt beach at Tea Hill.  Beautiful evening.
 Getting ready for dinner.
 Beautiful morning.
We cruised by feilds and feilds FULL of dandelions-- more than I have ever seen.  We had to stop and take a picture, though this field had fewer than many of the others.
Mary cruising on this little path for an awesome photo op.
Funnest set of hills ever!!!!  This was great : )  Just before we came to the ferry at Wood Island to take us on to Nova Scotia.
